The short version: BiteSpend is an AI receipt scanner and food budget tracker. Use it for your own personal household spending. Don't try to break it, don't try to use it for someone else without their permission, and we'll do our best to keep it working. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us.
BiteSpend is operated by Gorkhabots LLC, a California limited liability company. When we say "we," "us," or "our," we mean Gorkhabots LLC. When we say "you" or "your," we mean you, the person using BiteSpend. When we say "the Service," we mean the BiteSpend mobile app, the bitespend.com website, and any related features.
By creating an account, installing the BiteSpend app, or using bitespend.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
BiteSpend uses Google Sign-In (and Apple Sign-In on iOS once iOS ships) to identify your account. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. If you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, contact us at contactus@gorkhabots.com.
When you scan a receipt or enter expense data, that content stays yours. We process it to give you the features described on bitespend.com: item extraction, budget tracking, price comparison, and price history. We do not sell or share your receipts with anyone, and we do not use them to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and display your receipts and expense data inside your own account, solely to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your data or your account.
BiteSpend is free to use today. We plan to introduce paid tiers (Pro and Family) that unlock features like extended price history, cross-store price alerts, CSV export, and shared household budgets. When those launch:
We're a small team and the product is evolving fast. Features may change, get renamed, or be removed. Free tier limits and Pro tier contents may evolve. We'll give reasonable notice for material changes that affect your existing data or paid subscriptions.
The BiteSpend name, logo, app design, source code, and marketing materials are owned by Gorkhabots LLC. You don't get any ownership rights by using the Service. You may share screenshots of your own data on social media or with your household.
BiteSpend is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't promise it will be error-free, available 100% of the time, or that AI extraction will always be perfect. Always double-check the figures the app shows you before making big purchasing or budgeting decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gorkhabots LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service, even if we've been advised of the possibility of those damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you, for any claim arising out of or related to the Service, is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you've paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
You can stop using BiteSpend at any time. To delete your account and data, go to Settings → Your Data → Delete All My Data inside the app, or email contactus@gorkhabots.com.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are inactive for an extended period, or pose a security or legal risk. Where possible, we'll give you notice and a chance to resolve the issue first.
We hope it never comes to a dispute. If something is bothering you, please email us first at contactus@gorkhabots.com so we can try to work it out informally. If we can't resolve it within sixty (60) days, either side can pursue the matter in a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of California.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, if the changes are material, notify you through the app or by email. Continuing to use BiteSpend after the new terms take effect means you accept them.
